iPhone Texting Shrinks in Finland

In America mobile phone users love to text, but in Finland the Nords have realized that the expenses of text messaging may not be worth it.

Forbes gives a breakdown of why in the Americas texting or SMS messaging was only down by 7% in America as opposed to a 12% decline in Finland: Americans are being herded over to unlimited voice data plans offered by mega-carriers like AT&T, where-as the Nordic folk are supposedly savvy enough to find data plans that actually suits their needs as opposed to using what’s coerced upon them.

Nevertheless, the Alekstra data analysis that compared 2,000 phone users in Finland to America doesn’t give an actual reason as to why there’s a greater decline in Finland than in America, and Forbes’ guess as to the restrictive and force-fed data plans by the likes of AT&T is about as much a guess as anyone’s. Still, it’s interesting to note that the residence of Finland aren’t much into texting this year as they were last year.
