Despite having only released in September, the iPhone 5 has come out on top on being the most searched for gadget in 2012.
Even more than that, on Yahoo the iPhone 5 is the second most searched for term, only outdone by “elections.” And was one spot ahead of Kim Kardashian. The iPhone 5 also managed to outdo Kate Middleton, Olympics and Lindsay Lohan. On the gadget side of their search terms, the second most searched for gadget was the iPad. At number three was the iPad mini, despite the public being mostly ignorant of its existence until the month of launch in September. Samasung’s Galaxy S III and Amazon’s Kindle rounded out the top 5.
On Bing, the iPhone 5 was the most searched for news story and the most searched consumer electronics device in 2012. It was followed by “iPad” and “Samsung Galaxy SII/Samsung Galaxy S3” said Microsoft.
