Apple sells iSkinny iMacs in Australia

All new iMacs have third-generation Intel processors, 8GB of memory, a 1 Terabyte hard drive, an SDXC card slot, 4 USB 3.0 slots, two Thurderbolt ports, Mini DisplayPort output for DVI, VGA and dual-link DVI, and Gigabit Ethernet.

A 27-inch iMac can be configured with up to 768 GB of flash storage while a flash drive and conventional hard drive can be merged into one continuous "fusion drive".
The new iMacs were showcased in San Jose, California last month when Apple announced the release of its iPad mini tablet. Their signature feature is a much slimmer body -- 5mm thick at the edge due to a thinner screen and "friction-stir welding".
The 21.5-inch model, the smaller of two iMac sizes, will sell online and in Apple retail outlets. A 21.5-inch iMac with a 2.7 Gigahertz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce GT 640M graphics card will cost $1429, while one with a slightly faster 2.9 GHz quad-core Core i5 and slighly better GeForce GT 650M card will sell for $1698, Apple Australia said in a statement.

The 27-inch iMac will be available for ordering online and will begin shipping in December, Apple said in a statement. Core i5 versions will cost from $1999.

US models of the iMac are $150-$200 cheaper, with the same variations of the 21.5-inch model costing $US1299 and $US1499, while 27-inch models start from $US1799.
