Reports claim that a 4G LTE version of the iPhone 5,
which is set to be unveiled next month, is being tested by carriers as
we speak. BGR has even posted evidence of an internal iOS test build
from one of Apple’s major carrier partners, which includes a .plist file
for LTE.
However, it is unsure whether the next iPhone would actually feature a
4G LTE modem, which is considered as one of the most sought-after
features among next-gen smartphones. But considering the pace of 4G LTE
networks being built around the world, it would be foolish for Apple to
ignore this. Sources also claim that a 4G LTE-enabled iPhone 5 would
also have a longer battery life. Click the BGR link to peruse the
.plist file.
