Apple
has recently unveiled its new Thunderbolt Display. It is said to be
Apple’s (if not the world’s) very first 27 inch display that comes with
the new Thunderbolt I/O technology. Designed specifically for Mac
notebooks, it also serves as the ultimate docking station for them with
providing a number of features via using a single wire.
The new Apple Thunderbolt Display is a 27-inch wide screen 2560 x
1440 resolution display that comes also with LED backlight technology.
Its main selling point is that it comes with Thunderbolt ports with
bi-directional
channels that is capable of transfer speeds of up to
10Gbps each. The display also comes with a built-in FaceTime HD camera
and mic. A Thunderbolt-enabled Mac notebook can access the display’s
features as well as other peripherals via just a single Thunderbolt
cable. That is convenience that users would surely welcome. The new
Apple Thunderbolt Display is expected to be available within a couple of
months at the Apple Store for US$999.
