New Apple Smart Cover Protects iPad’s Back

Not every new Apple product gets a grand unveiling at the WWDC, such as this new Smart Cover for the latest iPad that appeared in the Apple Store website.

The main difference from the new Smart Cover from its previous version is that is now covers the tablet’s vulnerable back side. The magnet-embedded front lap remains the same, while the back of the iPad is covered with a thin layer of polyurethane, providing ample protection to the device without making it too bulky.

The new Smart Case for the iPad comes in six color options: red, green, pink, blue, light gray, and dark gray. The cover can also be used to the iPad 2, in case you haven’t bled your wallet dry for the Retina-packed iPad.
