WalMart Sells iPhone 5 For Only $127

Despite the nascence of the iPhone 5 and it’s newly cemented dominance on the market after arriving in mid-September of this year, some brick and mortar stores are already discounting the expensive high-end handset. Wal-Mart is currently selling iPhone 5 handsets for only $127 and it’s causing some market analysts to panic…just a little bit.

According to the L.A. Times, the drop in price for the iPhone 5 may not be a good thing for Apple in the long run. While the $127 price tag sure looks more financially delectable for the frugal shopper, the drop from the $199.99 price point has some analysts thinking that maybe the handset isn’t quite as hot as we’re led to believe.

In fact, a UBS analyst lowered the forecast throughout 2013, expecting Apple to sell 5 million fever iPhones than originally estimated.

I don’t think a few brick and mortars trying to cash in on the iPhone craze with price cuts will challenge Apple’s momentum all too much given that people are still trying to get their hands on the iPhone 5 any way they can.
